Why? Besides lying almost daily to the press (by press I mean Fox) and shooting his friend in the face, he thinks the middle east is doing just fine.

He sees one thing: Proof that the Bush administration's strategy is going exactly as planned. As the AP reports, the vice president was in Florida Friday to stump for a Republican congressional candidate. Along the way, Cheney pointed to the fighting between Israel and Hezbollah in the Middle East as a reason for keeping Republicans in control back in Washington.

"This conflict is a long way from over," Cheney said. "It's going to be a battle that will last for a very long time. It is absolutely essential that we stay the course."

How does this man sleep at night? I hope in the end, he gets his.
